What you love about your job? The family atmosphere.
What drew you to acpo originally? Their products and it’s close to home.
What you do for fun? Hang out with my kids, Sprint Car races, and raise rabbits. Also enjoy playing guitar and doing photography work.
What is your personal philosophy? Lead by example.
Meet the Team – Taryn Perry
Position: Customer Service Representative
Years at acpo: 1 1/2
Responsibilities: Entering in customer orders accurately and in a timely manner, taking calls from customers and answering their questions to the best of my ability.
What you love about your job? Being around my coworkers every day. I couldn’t pick a better team to be a part of!
What drew you to acpo originally? I had been working at a National Bank and was looking for a job change that was still customer service oriented and a friend referred me to acpo.
What you do for fun? Most of my time is spent with my 5 year old son, he keeps me pretty busy!
What is your personal philosophy? Laughter is the best medicine!
Meet the Team – Jordan Cantrell
Position: Inventory Control Specialist
Years at acpo: 6 in October
Responsibilities: I handle any inventory related issues at all of the facilities
What you love about your job? I enjoy that every day I have a new puzzle that needs to be solved and no day is the same. I like that I don’t work in a silo—I interact with almost every department in some capacity. And the people I work with are awesome!
What drew you to acpo originally? I had completed a college internship and the acpo job description was identical to what I had done.
What you do for fun? Music: I listen to my iPod almost all day long, I play trumpet in a jazz band when I can, and I collect vinyl albums. I also like to camp and bicycle when the weather is nice.
What is your personal philosophy? I like to laugh and I like to make other people laugh
Meet the Team – Maria Claus
Name: Maria Claus
Position: HR Specialist
Years at acpo: 6 months
Responsibilities: Recruiting job candidates and matching them with opportunities within the company. Onboarding which includes explaining policies, procedures and standards to new and existing employees. New hire paperwork. Administering benefit packages. Handle and provide support for various HR employee programs. Anything else related to assisting and supporting employees and candidates.
What do you love about your job? I love that I get to be a part of the process of attracting job candidates and matching them with positions that align with their skills, talents, financial goals and work hour specifications. Being in the employment industry for 27 years, I especially love being able to help and encourage others in reaching their employment goals.
What drew you to acpo originally? Kelli, the HR Manager! I was a service provider for acpo in my past employment and Kelli was my main contact. I loved how personable and flexible she was and open minded about job candidates. After candidate’s interviews, they would report similar findings regarding the managers and staff at acpo!
What do you do for fun? I love anything with the word “fun” in it. Life is too short to not love what you do and do what you love. I love Lake Erie, beaches and the outdoors! I love spending time with my 3 grown children, friends and extended family as well as my two cats. I love anything that has to do with art and creativity.
What is your personal philosophy? I truly believe in helping others to succeed and if support and encouragement are provided, employees will want to shine and do their best for their superiors. Leadership is all about bringing out the best in others by encouraging them to succeed.
Meet the Team – Denton Young
Position: Large Line Operator
Years at acpo: 12 years
Responsibilities: Complete orders to fulfill customer requests. Assure proper film quality and packaging procedures. Regular upkeep and maintenance of the machine.
What you love about your job? Professional and clean work environment. Friendly co-workers. Agreeable hours, consistent work flow and demand. Opportunity for bonuses and advancement.
What drew you to acpo originally? Stable and predictable job security.
What you do for fun? Work on and ride motorcycles, watching Indians baseball and Ohio State football.
What is your personal philosophy? Get it right the first time. If you don’t know how to get it right, ask someone who does.
Meet the Team – Dawn Kovac
Position: Account Manager
Years at acpo: 8 years
Responsibilities: Responsible for all sales activities in assigned region for current and potential new customers.
– Leading customer negotiations, contracts and supply agreements. Including product recommendations, technical support and problem solving.
What you love about your job? Being somewhat of a competitive nature, I would have to say being part of a winning team that supports so many USA manufacturing jobs and building relationships with a management team that truly cares.
What drew you to acpo originally? It was the summer of 2010 and my place of employment after 23 years was closing. I had to choose up root my family and relocate or find a different job. I went to the job fair and the friendly team greeted me, and I was intrigued with a whole different aspect of plastics and labeling and at that moment my decision was clear.
What you do for fun? Whatever my 2 year old granddaughter wants to do. I love living near the lake and the water.
What is your personal philosophy? You only fail if you quit trying.
