Oak Harbor, OH (16 September 2016) – acpo, ltd. unveiled their new line of barrier films and security technologies at Labelexpo Americas. Recognizing the desire for innovative products in the label and flexible packaging markets, show visitors were among the first to see acpo’s new anti-counterfeit, soft touch and high barrier flexible packaging film products.
Counterfeiting costs brand owners and U.S. businesses over $250 billion annually. To help combat this, acpo has developed multiple self-wound overlaminate products with embedded security features. With options of hidden customized messages, visual and audible authentication or layered technologies, acpo makes anti-counterfeit measures easy to implement and verify.
As previously announced, acpo has partnered with Sun Chemical to provide SunBar coated films to flexible packaging converters. These clear films will give converters a cost effective alternative to multi-layer and PVDC coated barrier films while providing ultra-high oxygen barrier properties, flex crack resistance and thermal resistance to support high speed filling on packaging lines and pouch converting equipment. Excellent print reception will eliminate the need for a third layer which supports package lightweighting, economics and efficiency.
acpo’s soft touch films can be utilized on both labels and flexible packaging where a high end, luxury look and feel is desired. The soft tactile sensation and matte finish will set the end product apart from others.

ACPO ltd., has announced the additions of two product managers. Anthony Saglimbeni has been named Product Manager for the company’s new line of brand protection films, and John Coyne has been appointed Product Manager for acpo’s new line of barrier films.
As Product Manager, Saglimbeni will use his expertise from concept to commercialization to identify unmet needs and bring new security and brand protection products to the anti-counterfeiting market. In his new role, he will also oversee compliance and quality initiatives within the brand protection offerings. While new to acpo, Saglimbeni has nearly 15 years’ experience in the brand protection and anti-counterfeiting industry. Prior to joining acpo, he was Security Solutions Specialist at a global ink and chemical company, previously holding the position of Scientist. He has developed anti-counterfeiting solutions for many different brand owners, helping to ensure their reputations and market share.
Saglimbeni received a Bachelor’s Degree in both Biochemistry and Hispanic Studies from Connecticut College. He then earned a Master’s Degree in Organic Chemistry from the University of Virginia.
As Product Manager for acpo’s new line of barrier films, John Coyne will use his expertise on a variety of barrier film solutions which will help to meet the increasing demand of converters and brand owners for films as a component in laminations to preserve and protect product, as well as extend shelf life. Coyne has nearly thirty years of experience with film, flexible packaging and converting markets.
At Labelexpo Europe 2015, acpo gave visitors a look at the first integrated non-detectable security system (INDSS) in the selfwound over laminate industry. acpo’s INDS system offers the end user the opportunity to use a premium lamination on their label, while ensuring a high amount of counterfeit security. The INDS system is built into the product and cannot be detected by means other than the user friendly system provided by acpo. The system offers the product manufacturer the ability to verify authenticity of their product right on the shelf without disruption to the business. Other applications could include the use of the INDS system to differentiate between manufacturing locations. acpo has long been know for their innovation, service and quality and they have continued that tradition with the release of yet another innovation for the label manufacturing industry.
